About the Class
This two-hour taster class is the ideal experience for those who have always wanted to try their hand on the potters' wheel or who wish to improve their throwing skills. Booking for an individual lesson in our 1-to-1 class means you get lots of help and support as needed. It is ideal for the complete novice and as an experience gift for someone special. After a demonstration by Cáit, most beginners usually achieve 2 pots they're happy with during the class. Your pots will be fired and ready to collect at the end of the term following the course, see below for further details.
Materials included
All the clay (we use studio-white earthenware) you'll need, all necessary tools and equipment, a poncho-style apron and towels are all provided. You just need to bring yourself and clothes and shoes you don't mind getting messy in. Up to two pots will be fired twice and glazed in your choice of blue, green or white.

Thursdays: 2:30 - 5pm
Saturdays: 11am - 1.30pm or 2.30pm - 5pm
Other times by appointment only.
About the Teacher
Cáit graduated from Ceramics at Glasgow School of Art in 2006. She has been teaching pottery regularly since 2017. She loves the opportunity to share her passion for clay and help others have the opportunity to get their hands on a pottery wheel and learn the skills needed to create their own pottery.
